TAXI DRIVER

This is the second Scorsese movie that i am watching in as many days, the prime difference is the age.. difference between the two movies is 20!!!.20 yrs and still Scorsese s movies have been America centric.

Taxi Driver starring Robert De Niro,Judy Foster,Harvey Keitel and many others paints the picture of a very distressed, insomniac individual Travis Bickle-no points for guessing who-Robert De Niro and his dislikes for the American society-which in his words is scum and his attempts to cleanse it.

Travis is a vietnam war veteran and he takes up the job of Taxi Driver in a local taxi agency,to fight his insomnia. So he mostly drives in the nights wherein he meets the darker side of America, and is very very pissed off with the way things are going.Truly enough, the movie shows that you can learn more about people of a nation being a taxi driver than being the president of a nation.

It appears to be a part of the biography of the particular person and has many different stories running on the inside. But everything, more or less contrubuting to the hatred, that got accumulated in his mind over his years. All of them force him to become a crusader and he very nearly becomes one,as he tries rescue a 13 yr old prostitute Iris(Judy Foster).

This movie is supposed to be one of those movies which shot him(Robert De Niro) to fame,so no issues on how this fella s acting was.The screenwritong was good but it dragged really long
in some scenes and there is always this possobility that a section might always feel that the movie is boring.

Yes!It is one of those movies which will become one of the best of,or one of the worst of,depending on ur taste.A very good watch!!! i d say.
